Are you ready?
Here we go!

Here’s a story of yet another engineer turned Artist. Every Indian has watched 3 Idiots and related to at least one aspect of it. For me, it is Farhan. Our lives are pretty similar. I, just like Farhan, had my ‘Beta voh tumhara camera kitne ka ayega’ moment. So let’s dial back a little.

Cameras have always attracted me, so it wasn't a surprise when I discovered my love for them during school. Whenever I attended any events, my eyes searched for and observed the photographers and videographers working in the event. Their techniques and just everything about them just fascinated me!

I kept gravitating toward cameras even before I was even aware of my passion. I shot using cyber shot, camcorder, DSLRs and whatnot. I attempted making VLOGS, Travel Videos, Events Shooting, Music videos, Short films, whatever you can think of. Back then, my knowledge of handling a camera was none but I had to give it a try.  I shot an event with Sony Cybershot for 3 hours, handheld, because I couldn’t access a tripod.

The first time I ever used a camera professionally, i.e. using the manual mode, was 3rd January 2020. I borrowed my cousin's camera who was kind enough to lend it to me. On a trip to Rajasthan, I captured every waking moment and it was then that I realised I was good at this. With confidence, I posted stuff online and people engaged with it. They appreciated the work I put in. Lockdown boosted my passion, I edited one image in twenty different styles and got pretty good at it. I taught myself about photography and videography through thousands of youtube videos, tutorials, lectures and whatever I could find.

Well, here comes the Farhan Qureshi moment of my life. My parents were analogous to any other Indian family, they hoped for me to get a job surrounding engineering and I wanted to run away from it. Gathering all the courage I had, I told them about my decision to pursue photography and not engineering, which, of course, wasn’t an easy task. But they saw me getting good at what I do.

Soon, I had to return my cousin's camera. But at this point, I'd already planned a few shoots with some models, influencers and actresses. For this, I expressed my thought of buying a new camera. My parents wished for me to join a course which would me a job in engineering. But after some time, my dad came up to me and said “let’s not join that course if it won't make you happy. Tell me how much that camera costs”. That was the day I realised that the things we see happening in movies can happen in real life and no one can convince me otherwise.

Since then, I haven't looked back and have been doing what I enjoy the most. I’ve worked with numerous models, influencers and actors. I’ve had an opportunity to work with quite a few talented individuals in the industry. Luckily, I got the right mentors who guided me through every single aspect of this field. And I couldn’t ask for a better life.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably worked with me or want to work with me in future. If you’ve worked with me in the past, I’d like to take this moment to thank you for trusting me and allowing me to work with you. If you’re new here, consider me and my team for your D Day and I promise we’ll not let you down.

Cheers to an amazing life!
